About Course

This course is the continuation of Digital Design course where logic gates, combinational and sequential circuits are studied. Starting from register design, memory design, ALU, datapath design are covered. Instruction set architecture with examples are covered. RISC and CISC architectures are reviewed.
 

What Will You Learn?

  • Develop the capability to analyze and design simple circuits
  • Understand how registers works.
  • Understand the basic components of the CPU including the ALU and control unit.
  • Know how instructions and underlying hardware are related.
  • Have a basic understanding of assembly programming
